Tongue-and-groove ceiling millwork

South Florida · Trim carpentry

Luxury trim carpentry for South Florida homes.

Crown, casing, base, beams, and millwork fitted to the architecture—quiet, exact, and made to last.

Craft

The full trim shop. One standard of fit.

Work is measured to the wall, not the catalog. Profiles are chosen for the room’s light, scale, and existing millwork.

01

Crown & cove

From a simple three-inch profile to multi-piece and large cove. Cut, coped, and finished paint or stain grade.

02

Windows, doors & casing

Jambs, sills, casing, and cased openings, including plinths when the house calls for them. Hung, wrapped, and finished.

03

Base & skirting

Basic base through custom and multi-piece, run into the casing as one connected line.

04

Tongue-and-groove

Ceilings and walls. Racetrack to a straight run. Boards true, lights cut clean, paint or stain.

05

Custom beams

Layout, mill, and install to the spec. Pecky cypress, mahogany, oak, aged stock, and other woods to a paint or stain finish.

06

Paneling & stairs

Wall paneling, stair skirting, and wall moldings. Joined, glued, and set so the plane holds.

Rooms defined by the trim.

About

Playa Development.

A father-and-son studio for luxury trim carpentry in South Florida, led by Michael Entenza Sr. and Michael Entenza Jr.

The work is the fit: coped joints that disappear, shadow lines that hold, and profiles that belong to the house. Every piece is considered against the light of a coastal interior—salt air, high sun, and rooms that ask for restraint as much as ornament.

Obsession with finish is the brief. Nothing is left proud of the plane that shouldn’t be.
